2009 Turkey Drive exceeds goal! More than 800 turkeys collected!

Thanksgiving dinner
In 2008, Volunteers of America's Turkey Drive fell short of its 300-bird goal. With a gloomier economy facing us, we braced ourselves for another drop in turkey donations. But the Greater Sacramento community dug deep and we've seen donations surpass the 800 mark!

Volunteers of America provides more than 1,800 meals daily to clients in its emergency shelters, as well as in its transitional and permanent-supportive housing programs. During the holiday season, we also provide for those in need who reside in our affordable housing for seniors programs, and those in our affordable housing for families programs.

With a successful Turkey Drive behind us, we are hoping those who wish to share their blessings with those less fortunate, will explore our other holiday campaigns still in need of Christmas angels. To learn more of these opportunities, click here.

Financial contributions, which provide food and shelter for our clients during the holidays and throughout the year, may be made online now, by mail (Volunteers of America, Administration Office, 1900 Point West Way, Suite 270, Sacramento, CA 95815), or in person at our administration office (office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday).
